Montenegro

First thing I want to say is – I did not spend enough time here to feel like I can say much about the country. But what I saw was very beautiful! 

I only stayed one night in the country, in Podgorica. It was a cute city, and it was nice to stay some place where I could walk to things (I truly love both city and country, this was a city balance to several stops that were not). I had dinner at a place that was rated well and had local dishes, and then asked the waiter that I could only get in Montenegro. He brought me a lovely local white wine (overall, I have had really good experiences with Baltic wines), and a Montenegrin steak – which is not beef but instead a pounded pork tenderloin stuffed with more meat and cheese. Much like a pork cordon-blue. It was good though. I also made friends with a local kitty (who clearly likes pork).

On my way to the Croatian border I did take a short car ferry, which was a nice break – both from driving and from the heat as it rained a little while we were crossing, and the rest of the drive was quite scenic, it’s a shame that it is so hard to get good pictures while driving.

Only a very short stay, but a country definitely worth going back to spend more time in.
