Dubrovnik

First stop in Croatia (a deceivingly long country that you only really notice if you are driving the length of it) is Dubrovnik. A cute coastal city, that I knew a lot of cruise ships stopped in, but it was still wild to see so many ships packed into such a small port. I’ll be totally honest, I didn’t walk around much. I was feeling overwhelmed with the struggle to balance traveling – to keep moving forward, time to work – I can’t launch an online shop if I don’t have a website, time to catch up on personal things, and time to explore. So I mainly took the stop in Dubrovnik as time to work and catch up on the personal.

I was starving when I got there though, and I did find a well rated tasting menu a very close walk to the house I was staying, so I did enjoy a nice meal. And the hotel was a very cute 16th century villa.

I did stay at a VRBO, mostly so that I could do some laundry, but it was also nice to feel slightly less transient being in a house. The host’s mother stopped in to make sure all was well, which was very nice. And it was quite close to everything. I wouldn’t mind going back to explore more of the city, but also I am very glad I took the time I needed.
